Auroras are stunning natural phenomena — streaking across the sky, with swirls of light that intersect and shoot off in different directions. And yet, you have to work to see them. They cannot usually be spotted with the naked eye.

Vaurora Social Impact shines the right lenses onto the unseen. We build partnerships and projects that unearth potential. We amplify the work of outstanding people and organisations who are less visible, recognised, or represented in our ecosystems.

A belief

That belief is where Vaurora begins — and where I begin.

Over fifteen years living and working across India, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and the Philippines — and alongside humanitarian partners whose work reached Asia, Africa, South America, Europe and the Middle East — plus seven more years across Australia, including First Nations, regional, rural and remote communities, I saw the same pattern everywhere I went.

Women, migrants, refugees, youth and First Nations people are consistently under-represented in leadership, startup and social enterprise. Not for any lack of skill, grit or potential — those exist in spades — but for lack of meaningful access to the networks, resources and insider knowledge of how the real system works, and how to make it work for them.

That is where I come in.

What I do

Through Vaurora Social Impact, I help Founders of Colour to showcase their strengths and potential, and to grow the impact of their work. I break down barriers by co-creating hands-on, decolonised education and skills initiatives, and by building the meaningful, long-term partnerships and networks that founders are too often locked out of — including global Communities of Practice where organisations learn from and strengthen one another.

By doing this work together, organisations led by Founders of Colour become stronger, more recognised and sustainable — on their own terms.

My aim goes beyond adding value to my clients. I aim to shift the fundamental inequities that hold them back — at a systems level.
